COMEDY
Sometimes I write comedy.
I was a staff writer for Sacha Baron Cohen, and co-wrote his book, “Da Gospel According to Ali G.”
In 2009 I founded the “Backward” imprint at the Forward which set the pace for Jewish satire sites for a decade, editing and writing under the pseudonym Ian Fist (and Phil O’Lologous). From “Bibi Suddenly Keen To Wash Obama’s Care” to “Move Over Notorious RBG, Special K Is on Da Bench” to “The Yiddish Roots of Twerking,” for 9 years the Backward was where the Forward met The Onion.
I also write about comedy sometimes.
I wrote about Louis CK before his disgraceful behaviour came to light.
I wrote about the relation of American Jewish identity and comedy.
